What operational or sales challenges were you looking to address when you started working with Wandero?

One of our biggest challenges was managing the complexity of custom travel. Romania is a large country with many possible routes, combinations and seasonal considerations, so building the right itinerary can involve 20-30 emails, several versions and changing group structures before everything is finalized.

We needed a better way to keep track of all client requests, avoid missing details between revisions and reduce the time spent rebuilding quotations manually. Pricing was another major challenge, as every company has its own logic, formulas, supplements, FOC rules and operational conditions.

We had used different CRM systems over the years, but most required too much manual data entry and offered very little flexibility. We were looking for a system that could understand the logic of travel operations, help automate pricing and itinerary creation, remember operational details such as attraction closing days, and bring sales, communication and trip design into one place without relying so heavily on Excel.

What has stood out to you about Wandero and its approach to supporting your business?

What has stood out most is Wandero's ability to adapt to the way we already run our business, rather than forcing us to adapt our business to a rigid CRM structure.

Over the years, we accumulated a huge amount of knowledge about destinations, pricing logic, operational rules, itinerary design and client preferences, but this knowledge was spread across people, documents, emails and spreadsheets. With native AI, that logic can now be structured around our own processes and used consistently.

Instead of changing the way we work, Wandero helps us make our existing way of working faster and more scalable. Repetitive tasks can be handled by the system, while our team can focus more on answering requests, developing new experiences and growing the business.

The biggest impact is productivity: one person can now cover areas that previously required separate roles across sales, operations and product development. A few years ago, that level of efficiency would have been difficult to imagine, and we still feel this is only the beginning.

What would you say to another travel company considering Wandero?

I would say that AI technology is still not perfect and there are certainly gaps, but compared with where we were even two years ago, the progress is remarkable.

Travel companies now have a choice: continue working in the traditional way, which is slower and can become very limiting when the business is complex, or use the right technology to make the same processes significantly faster and more scalable.

For me, the concern that AI will replace people is largely misplaced. Wandero does not replace our staff; it removes repetitive work and allows them to focus more on clients, creativity and decision-making. It also gives the team more confidence that important details in complex itineraries will not be overlooked.

For a DMC, know-how is one of the most valuable assets, and traditionally it can take years to train a new team member properly. With Wandero, much of that knowledge can be embedded into the system, so new staff can become productive much faster by learning how to work with the platform rather than having to absorb everything from scratch.

I cannot put an exact number on the productivity increase, but the difference is substantial. The technology is now accessible to everyone, and I believe companies that learn how to use it well will have a major advantage.
